About Cordierite

Cordierite (2MgO-2Al2O3-5SiO2) is a thermal and electrical insulating structural ceramic with very good thermal shock characteristics.  This ceramic can be manufactured such that the coefficient of thermal expansion is very low in one direction.

Cordierite Ceramic Applications

  • Catalytic converters
  • Kiln furniture
