Natural or synthetic crystalline materials find many technical uses, ranging from lasing media to extremely hard structural components. The two most common technical crystalline materials are single crystal silicon and synthetic sapphire. Both are manufactured in boules, have anisotropic mechanical, thermal, and optical properties, and are very challenging to machine. CiDRA® Precision Services, LLC has a wealth of experience dicing, drilling, milling, grinding, and polishing sapphire, silicon, and other crystalline materials. We welcome the opportunity to put our capabilities to work manufacturing your most difficult components.
