About Single Crystal Silicon Carbide

Single Crystal Silicon (6H-SiC) is a relatively new material, but is growing in importance in the semiconductor industry. Like all synthetic crystal, it is grown in boules and then cut to shape. This material rivals sapphire in hardness, is chemically inert and can be used at very high temperatures. The semicondcutor properties of single crystal silicon carbide make it very attractive for that industry.
