About Titanium Diboride Ceramics

Titanium Diboride (TiB2) is a very hard material (rivaling that of diamond) with very good high temperature corrosion resistance. It is a relatively expensive material and is difficult to form to near net shape. This material is notable because it is an electrically and thermally conducting ceramic.

Titanium Diboride Applications

  • Cathodes for aluminum smelting
  • Cutting tools
  • Ballistic Armor
  • Crucibles for non-ferrous metal
