About Tungsten Carbide Ceramics

Tungsten carbide is a metallic colored ceramic material composed of Tungsten, Carbon and often Cobalt. The primary attraction of Tungsten Carbide is its high strength and low ductility at high temperatures. It is notable for its wear resistance and hardness and is therefore widely used for cutting tools, abrasives and bearing applications involving severe service conditions. In recent years, Tungsten Carbide has emerged as a superior alternative to steel in many industrial applications.

Tungsten Carbide Applications

  • High-temperature wear pads
  • Balls for bearings and valves
  • Nozzles for severe environments
