Fiber Splicer Chuck

Application: It is common to cleave and splice optical fibers when assembling and testing optical fiber telecommunications and sensing  systems.  The key to fusion splicing optical fibers, especially single mode optical fibers with their 6um to 9um diameter cores, is to hold the fibers being spliced precisely in specifically designed fiber chucks.

Features: This fused silica fiber chuck is diced and then concentrically ground from bar stock to within 10um tolerances, and then a length-wise V-grove is cut within 5um tolerances.
